Online Participation
November 29 to 30, 2011
Not able to travel but still want to participate in the National Summit for the Charitable and Nonprofit Sector? We want to have as many perspectives as possible informing the priorities for action, so we are making it easier for you, your colleagues, board members, other volunteers, and people in your community to participate in the Summit online.
The Summit is bringing together leaders from across sub-sectors and from across the country. We’re moving on the top four priorities for action identified nationally:
- Improved conditions for the attraction and retention of paid staff
- More diversified and sustainable financing
- Better understanding of our work and our impact
- Enhanced support for the engagement of volunteers/external talent
Online participants will have the chance to:
- Participate in and/or access plenaries on-demand
- Ask questions of the keynote speakers
- Contribute to advancing one of the priorities for action
Our exciting roster of keynote speakers includes:
- Allan Gregg on where we sit on the radar screens of decision-makers, the media and the public
- Emmanuelle Hébert, Co-Founder of MU in Montreal on community and citizen engagement
- National Chief Shawn Atleo on sector engagement with First Nations communities
- Mayor of Calgary Naheed Nenshi on the role of the sector in building vibrant and resilient communities
- Canadian Astronaut Julie Payette with a call to action
Contribute to the plan of action. Help us build the network that will lay the foundation in your community for this work to continue after the Summit! Let your voice be heard!
